What is a Deep Tissue Massage?

This can either be a full body or site specific massage using techniques to get in to the deeper layers of muscle targeting more chronic problem areas, gradually breaking up knots and adhesions.

How does deep tissue massage work ?

 Deep tissue massage works by physically breaking up the knots and adhesions to relieve pain and restore movement back in to the muscles.

Does deep tissue massage hurt?

Most people find there is slight discomfort . If the pressure is to much outside of your comfort level please let the therapist know, so they can accomodate accordingly.

What can I expect during my deep tissue massage session?

Massage therapists for this kind of massage will use forearms, elbows, thumbs, knuckles. You may be asked to breathe deeply as the therapist try’s to release certain tense muscles. The therapist may also do certain stretching techniques and maneuver your body into different positions to allow for better access to certain muscles to be released.
